MDMA is a drug that effects neurotransmitters in the brain. There are many street names that have become associated with MDMA, such as ecstasy, E, X, and it is commonly referred to as a "club" drug. MDMA typically is injested orally in pill form, but can also be snorted and injected intraveiniously.
Commonly observed physical effects of the drug are rapid eye movement, involuntary teeth clenching, muscle tension, nausea, chills, sweating, and extreme relaxation. Long term effects from ecstasy abuse include brain damage, memory loss, inability to concentrate, respiratory problems, hyperthermia, chronic depression, inability to naturally produce serotonin, organ failure, and death.
Ecstasy drug tests can detect drug use in most people in about 1 hour after use and normally remains in the body for 3 to 7 days.
