Phencyclidine, also known as PCP or Angel Dust, it is a hallucinogen that was first used as a surgical anesthetic in the 1950's. PCP has widespread use in teens and young adults. PCP is a white powder that is solluble in water and alcohol. PCP users can become suicidal or very violent while under the influence. PCP is available in pill form, and powder form, which can be smoked, snorted, or orally ingested. Typically when PCP is smoked it is rolled with either marijuana, oregano, parsley, or mint.
Commonly observed physical effects of PCP include excessives salivation, combativeness, severe paranoia, flashbacks, vomiting, and amnesia.
PCP will be detectable within 4 to 6 hours after use and will remain present within a urine sample for 7 to 14 days.
